€2.2 million fine for Sklavenitis and Lidl by the Ministry of Development

Minister Takis Theodorikakos stated that enforcement of the instrumentality for consumer protection is non-negotiable.

Details of the Fines

Two dense fines were imposed by DIMEA (Directorate for Market Surveillance) connected 2 large supermarket chains pursuing inspections regarding compliance with the nett borderline headdress and the Code of Conduct.

Specifically:

• Sklavenitis: €1,440,000 good for violations of the Code of Conduct.
• Lidl: €805,340 good for violations of the nett borderline cap.

The inspection for Lidl was ordered successful 2024 by Minister of Development Takis Theodorikakos and concluded recently.

Ministry of Development Announcement

Following the completion of inspections conducted by DIMEA regarding adherence to the nett borderline headdress and the Code of Conduct, the pursuing decisions were announced:

1. Lidl: Fine of €805,340 for violations of the nett borderline cap, aft an inspection ordered successful 2024 by Minister Takis Theodorikakos. The process concluded connected September 5, 2025.
2. Sklavenitis: Fine of €1,440,000 for violations of the Code of Conduct, pursuing an inspection ordered successful the summertime of 2025.
